Bessie’s journey began in the care of a kind-hearted local resident who took in and cared for many dogs. Sadly, when the resident became too ill to continue, our partner rescue stepped in to ensure all the dogs found safety.

Now, Bessie is looking for a loving home where she can finally experience the warmth and comfort of a real family.

Personality
Bessie is a beautiful 5-year-old Mioritic Shepherd mix (we think!) who has been at the shelter since January 2025. She is an incredibly calm and sweet girl who takes life in her stride.

She previously shared a kennel with a male dog and got along wonderfully with him. She has also met other dogs on walks and was gentle and unfazed by them, showing her easygoing nature.

On walks, Bessie strolls calmly by your side, taking in her surroundings with a relaxed demeanor. Back at the shelter, she enjoys quiet companionship and is happy to accept gentle affection. She doesn’t demand much—just the simple pleasure of being with someone who cares.

Bessie isn’t asking for much—just a cosy sofa to relax on, a nice sniffy walk to enjoy her day, and then back home for some good food and a snooze!
