Meet Blaze – Ready to Light Up Your Life

Background

Blaze, born in October 2024, was discovered alone in the centre of a local village in June 2025. All signs suggest he once belonged to someone before being abandoned. When shelter volunteers found him, he was resting quietly in the shade between cars, calm and unafraid. The moment food was offered, he approached with a gentle curiosity and friendly tail wag, ready to accept help and begin his journey to a better life.

Personality

Blaze is a sweet-natured, gentle boy with a warm heart and a calm, easy-going energy. While he enjoys playtime and gets a big wag in his tail when he sees his favourite people, he also has a thoughtful side—taking time to observe the world around him before joining in. Once he feels secure, he loves leaning in for strokes, rolling over for belly rubs, and settling happily by your side.

Blaze is highly food-motivated, this will make learning new skills not only effective, but fun for him. He’s already shown that with patient, consistent guidance, he can adapt well to new experiences, and his confidence will only continue to grow with calm reassurance and gentle encouragement. He is doing well with harness training and walking outside the shelter.

Like many rescue dogs, Blaze benefits from understanding and kindness when exploring unfamiliar situations. Through counter-conditioning, praise, and a steady routine, he will flourish into an even more confident and loving companion. Blaze has all the makings of a loyal, affectionate best friend who will bring joy to any home willing to give him the time, care, and love he deserves.

Home Required

Blaze will do best in a home that can offer patience, understanding, and gentle guidance as he grows in confidence. He would benefit from living with a calm, confident dog companion, or he can be the cherished only dog in a home where he receives consistent attention and reassurance. A home that is more rural or suburban would suit Blaze as it will give him the opportunity to explore open spaces.

A family committed to positive, reward-based training will help Blaze feel secure and strengthen his bond with them. Blaze’s ideal home provides opportunities for play, gentle socialisation, and enrichment, celebrating his friendly, affectionate nature while supporting his continued development. Blaze is ready to bring warmth, loyalty, and joy to the right family.
