Cola’s journey to safety began in a rural area, where he had been living in the yard of a local family. When the shelter team arrived to spay dogs in the community, the family shared they no longer wanted to keep Cola and asked the team to take him in. Cola was brought into the shelter in June 2025, he is 10 years old. Despite this sudden change, he has shown gentle resilience.

Personality

Cola is a kind-hearted older gentleman who loves human interaction and affection. When approached, he welcomes visitors with a wagging tail, a soft whine, and loving eye contact. Though he can be initially unsure—showing signs like lip licking—he settles quickly with calm, steady care. Once trust builds, Cola becomes a cuddly, affectionate companion, happily accepting strokes and snuggles, even climbing into laps for love.

His affectionate nature blossoms further with patience and gentle encouragement. Cola is already responding positively to reward-based training and is making wonderful progress with harness work. He’s the kind of dog who appreciates a peaceful space and responds beautifully to calm guidance, consistency, and understanding.
