Dougie – A Gentle Boy Looking for a Patient and Loving Home

Dougie and his siblings were rescued from a field near a block of flats, where they were found rummaging through trash in search of scraps. Thankfully, they were brought to the safety of the shelter in November 2024, giving them a second chance at life.

Personality
Dougie is a shy little boy who is still learning to trust humans. He isn’t quite ready for cuddles yet, but there’s a spark of curiosity in his eyes that shows he wants to be brave. He finds comfort in his siblings, often sticking close to them for reassurance. We believe that what Dougie truly needs is a patient and understanding home where he can take things at his own pace and slowly build confidence in his new surroundings.

Home Required
Dougie needs a special home—one that allows him to settle in at his own speed. A peaceful household with minimal visitors, ideally in a rural setting, would be best for him. A kind and confident resident dog would be ideal to help him adjust and show him the way. He will need patient and understanding owners with knowledge of positive reward-based training and counter-conditioning, as he will need to learn everything from scratch.
