Meet Maggie – a bright lively girl who brings energy and joy wherever she goes!

Background

Maggie was rescued from one of Romania’s public shelters in January 2023, she was one of the lucky ones to be taken into the shelter. Since then she has spent over 3 years in our care at the shelter, waiting for her forever home. We know that there is someone out there for the magnificent Maggie!

Personality

Now approximately 4 years old, Maggie has seen so many of her shelter companions come and go, whilst she waits patiently to be rehomed. Maggie has a real spirit for life, she is curious, open to affection and eager to engage. She thoroughly enjoys the company of people and is super happy to see visitors in her kennel, often by placing her paws on their legs for pets. Although she is an adult dog, Maggie still loves to play and is very active, she loves playing with her kennel mate! Maggie is smart and observant, she loves to explore and is tuned into the world around her.

Maggie has aced wearing a harness, she is happy to be handled whilst putting it on. She is showing signs of enjoying walking. On walks, her curiosity comes through by sniffing, marking and taking the world around her in. She may pull on the lead at times due to her excitement, but with continued positive reinforcement, she’d make a fun and adventurous walker. When she returns to the kennel she loves nothing more than quenching her thirst and then splashing about in the water bowl!

Home required

Maggie is looking for a home that shares her active and curious spirit. She would thrive in a home where she can enjoy regular walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of playtime. A home that is more rural and fewer outside noise triggers would suit Maggie, especially during the initial settling in period. She’d do well with other friendly dogs of a similar nature to her own, and she’s also happy to soak up all the attention herself. Maggie would be a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a smart, affectionate and joyful dog who is always ready to make your day brighter. Could that be you?
