Meet Nala – A Sweetheart Ready for Her Second Chance

Her Story
Nala’s life hasn’t been easy. At around three years old, she was rescued from one of Romania’s public pounds – harsh, unforgiving places where dogs like her rarely get a second chance. Thankfully, she was brought to the shelter in April 2024, safe at last. But what she truly deserves is a forever home. A place where she can finally leave her past behind and be cherished the way she was always meant to be.

Her Personality
Nala is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl who adores human company. With a constantly wagging tail, she soaks up every bit of love she can get. Unlike some of the more excitable dogs at the shelter, she doesn’t jump up for attention—she simply presses herself against the kennel bars, gently asking for more strokes with her big, soulful eyes.

When carers enter her kennel, she bounces over with her gorgeous, smiley face, ready for as much affection as you’re willing to give. She would happily sit for hours, enjoying the warmth of a kind hand stroking her.

Nala is also beginning to learn about life outside the shelter. She’s getting used to wearing a harness and lead and has enjoys sniff-filled walks around the fields with her kennel mate. While she gets along fine with her current companion, she would prefer to be the only dog in her forever home—so she can soak up all the love and attention!

The Home Nala Needs
We think Nala would prefer a home in a quiet suburban or rural area. She needs adopters who will be patient as she adjusts to her new life and who understand positive reinforcement training and counter-conditioning techniques to help her settle in.
