Meet Prawn – Hoping for a Life Beyond the Flooded Fields

Prawn was born in April 2025 and, along with her five siblings, was living freely on a rural farm in Romania. When severe flooding struck, the farm owners were forced to rehome many of the animals. Thankfully, they reached out to the shelter for help, and in June 2025, the entire litter arrived to begin their journey toward a better life. They have brought joy to the shelter despite the difficult start they’ve had.

Personality

Prawn is a sweet and curious puppy who is slowly learning about the world around her. She can be a little cautious at first, often taking a moment to observe before approaching, but with gentle encouragement she begins to show her softer, more playful side. Like most young pups, she enjoys exploring, nibbling on her siblings’ ears, and resting after bursts of activity. Prawn will flourish in an environment that provides calm, consistent support, and where positive reinforcement, patience, and understanding are at the heart of her learning.

Home Required

Prawn is looking for a home that’s ready to support a young rescue puppy who’s never lived inside a house before. She will need guidance every step of the way. A calm, stable environment where she can be introduced gradually to new experiences will help her feel safe and secure. A home that uses reward-based training and understands the value of time, structure, and gentle counter-conditioning will help Prawn build her confidence at her own pace. She would benefit greatly living with a calm and friendly resident dog who can show her the ropes. Prawn would also be suitable as the only dog, provided her adopters can offer consistent support and companionship.
