Meet Ringo – ready for a loving lap to call home

Background

Ringo arrived at the shelter in March 2025 after being rescued from a local public pound. He had a few old wounds and a sore leg, but despite his pains, he showed a gentle and trusting nature with the team when they rescued him.

Personality

Ringo is incredibly affectionate and will gently climb into your lap to soak up strokes and cuddles. He is super friendly and enjoys spending time with people, without being overly excitable. He is curious and responsive, and with dedication and time we feel he will ace training and be able adapt to a life in a loving, warm home.

He walks beautifully on a leash, calmly and attentively, and is perfectly happy to have his harness put on. Ringo has been out on several walks beyond the shelter and also visits the playground, where he gently explores before returning to the side of the volunteers. He is relaxed when being handled, allowing the volunteers to touch him all over without hesitation.

Around other dogs Ringo is easy going and polite. He likes to co-exist, staying calm.

Home required

Ringo is looking for a home that is loving, and where he can feel truly safe and treasured. He’d be happiest with someone who can offer consistency, who is patient and kind, who understands the journey of healing and trust that is required.

A home with another gentle-natured dog would be a wonderful match, but he would also be very content as your loyal companion. What matters most is that Ringo has people who love him unconditionally, allow him to be close, and give him the time to settle into a new world.

Ringo has survived so much in his short life, and yet he still remains soft, loving and gentle. His quiet affection will fill your home with warmth, one cuddle at a time.
