Waldo’s journey began in the care of a kind-hearted local resident who took in and cared for many dogs. Sadly, when the resident became too ill to continue, our partner rescue stepped in to ensure all the dogs found safety.

Now, Waldo is looking for a loving home where he can finally experience the warmth and security of a real family.

Personality
Waldo is a gentle but worried soul who is trying so hard to be brave. However, life in a kennel is overwhelming for him. He finds comfort in the presence of other dogs, relying on them for confidence and reassurance to explore his surroundings.

Right now, he isn’t ready for human touch, but what he truly needs is a calm, patient home—somewhere he can finally feel safe and secure. With the right environment and someone willing to take the time to build his trust, we know that Waldo will flourish in his own time.

Home Required
Waldo will need patient and understanding owners who are committed to using counter-conditioning and positive reinforcement to help him adjust to his new world. As he has never lived in a home before, he will need to learn everything from scratch.

We think Waldo would benefit greatly from living with a friendly, confident resident dog, as having a canine companion could help boost his confidence. A quiet and calm home environment with minimal visitors would be best for him so that he can settle at his own pace without too much pressure.

All Waldo needs is someone to give him a chance—someone who will let him adjust in his own time and celebrate the small but meaningful victories. The first tail wag, the first kiss, the first time he chews on a toy—each moment will be a rewarding step forward in his journey.
