Meet Bear – A Handsome Boy Ready for His Forever Home

His Story
Bear’s journey began when the team was called to a neighbourhood to take in a dog who was seen as a “nuisance.” But instead of a troublemaker, they found the gorgeous, fluffy Bear. Living on scraps tossed to him by kind strangers, Bear had a tough life on the streets. Some residents wanted him gone, but he was rescued just in time. Now, at around 3 years old, Bear enjoys safety at the shelter but is yearning for a loving family to call his own.

His Personality
Bear is a truly stunning shepherd mix with deep brown eyes that will melt your heart in an instant. At first, Bear can be a little shy, giving you a good sniff to size you up, but once he gets to know you, his true personality comes alive. He’s a happy, affectionate boy who absolutely loves his strokes and will show off his playful side with boundless energy.

Bear may live alone in his kennel due to his size and appreciation for his personal space, but when he’s in the playground, he’s a total social butterfly—playing with other dogs for hours on end if given the chance. His kind nature makes him the perfect companion for dog tests, and he’s often called upon by carers to help new arrivals feel comfortable.

Bear even took part in the annual Run for Animals 5k event in Romania, where he had an absolute blast with his carer. Once he settles into his forever home, Bear will be thrilled to go on adventures, explore new places, and hopefully make some doggy friends for regular playdates!

The Home Bear Needs
Bear will need a family who’s willing to teach him everything from scratch. A patient, understanding home with experience in counter-conditioning and positive reinforcement training will be ideal to help Bear adjust to his new life. He’s perfectly content being an only dog, but he could also live with another calm, kind resident dog in the right home—provided there’s plenty of space for him to feel comfortable.
