Meet Cassie – A Loving Heart Waiting for Her Forever Home

Her Story
Cassie’s journey has been one of resilience and hope. Abandoned near the shelter, she was rescued in April 2023 and has been waiting for a family ever since. Now approximately 8 years old and entering her second year in the shelter, Cassie longs for a home where she will never be left behind again.

Her Personality
Cassie is a gentle, affectionate girl who adores her carers. She greets them with a wagging tail and a heart full of love, always ready for a fuss. But when they leave her kennel, she watches them go with the saddest eyes, silently pleading, “Please don’t leave me.” More than anything, Cassie dreams of a home where she never has to say goodbye again.

One of Cassie’s favorite things is going for walks. She’s doing brilliantly with her harness and lead training, enjoying every chance to explore the world around her. A long sniffy walk followed by a cozy cuddle session on the sofa? That’s Cassie’s perfect day.

The Home Cassie Needs
Cassie currently lives alone at the shelter, and because of this, we believe she would be happiest as the only dog in her new home, soaking up all the love and attention she so desperately craves. She will need patient adopters who understand that she has never lived in a home before and will be learning everything from scratch.

A family with knowledge of positive reward training and counter-conditioning will help Cassie settle into her new life at her own pace. A rural or suburban home, where she can enjoy peaceful walks, would suit her best.
