Going from a familiar home to a kennel was a heartbreaking transition, leaving Elsa confused and worried. But despite the sadness of her situation, she is ready to embrace a new beginning with a family who will never let her feel abandoned again.

Elsa is the definition of a sweetheart. When she first arrived at the shelter in March 2024, she was understandably anxious about her new reality. However, with time, patience, and love from the amazing shelter team, she has blossomed into a confident and affectionate girl. Now, she patiently waits at the kennel door, eager to greet her carers with a shower of kisses!

This intelligent girl knows sit, lay down, and paw—always happy to show off her skills, especially when treats are involved! Her playful spirit is still very much alive, and she adores playing with toys, a heartwarming reminder of the home she once had. Elsa is also a “pro” at loose-lead walking, happily strolling beside her carers while taking in her surroundings. She has even joined group walks with other dogs at the shelter and has done brilliantly.

Elsa is looking for a patient and understanding family who will use positive reinforcement and counter-conditioning to help her settle into her new home. Although she has lived in a home before, her adopters should be prepared to give her the time she needs to adjust at her own pace.

She would thrive in a loving household where she can be showered with affection, new toys, and plenty of cozy snuggle time. Elsa can live as an only dog or with another calm, friendly resident dog.
