Fonzie was taken into the shelter in June 2025, he was living with a family in a small yard in a local area. The shelter team were in the area spaying dogs and the family asked if the team could take him as they could no longer care for him. Although Fonzie had people around him before, he has never known the comfort and security of a true family home. Now safe at the shelter, Fonzie is patiently waiting for someone to show him that his golden years might still be filled with kindness, warmth and belonging.

Personality

Fonzie is a wonderfully soft-natured and affectionate boy who adores human company. When visitors approach his kennel, he greets them gently, wagging his tail and calmly making his way over to say hello. He is trusting and people-focused, happily pressing his head into waiting hands, cuddling in close, and offering kisses.

He moves slowly and thoughtfully, showing the calm wisdom of a senior dog, yet when invited with a cheerful voice, he brightens and trots over with enthusiasm. Fonzie enjoys quietly following his carers around, always seeking closeness and reassurance. He is doing really well on walks outside the shelter, wearing his harness and strolling happily by the carers side, showing how ready he is to enjoy peaceful outings with his future family.

Fonzie will need a patient and gentle home that understands he has never lived indoors before and is still learning what family life means. Calm guidance, positive reward-based training, and lots of encouragement will help him settle into new routines at his own pace.
