Meet Jake – A Gentle Soul Looking for a Loving Home

Jake’s journey hasn’t been the easiest. He was originally cared for by a kind-hearted local resident who took in many dogs on her land. Sadly, when she became very ill and could no longer care for them, our partner rescue stepped in to ensure all of the dogs found safety. Jake has been at the shelter since February 2025, and now it’s time for him to find a home of his own—a place where he can finally experience the warmth and comfort of family life.

Personality
Jake is the definition of a chilled-out gentleman. At approximately 10 years old, he’s calm, affectionate, and happy to share his kennel with two other dogs. When his carers visit, he’s always the first to greet them, staying by their side for a fuss and a cuddle. He enjoys simply sitting next to you, soaking in the moment, and will follow you around, quietly enjoying your presence.

Jake has also done well in social tests with other dogs at the shelter—he greets them with a gentle sniff before happily returning to his favourite activity: getting more cuddles!

Home Required
Jake isn’t asking for much—just a peaceful, loving home where he can relax and enjoy the simple joys of life. He would thrive in a calm environment with patient and understanding owners who will use positive reinforcement to help him adjust to home life. Since he has never lived in a home before, he will need to learn the basics from scratch, but with his easy-going nature, we’re sure he’ll settle in beautifully.

He would be happy as an only dog, soaking up all the love, but he could also live alongside another gentle, calm-natured dog. A home where he can enjoy a daily sniffy walk and plenty of relaxation would be perfect for him.
