Lovely Layla – Ready for a Lifetime of Love!

Her Story
Layla’s journey has been heartbreaking, but she hasn’t let it dim her spirit. Found tied to a pole, severely malnourished and neglected, she was abandoned by those who should have cared for her. Thankfully, she was rescued in January 2024 and given the chance to start again. Now approximately 5 years old, Layla is safe at the shelter, waiting for the loving home she truly deserves.

Her Personality
When Layla first arrived, she was shy and unsure of her surroundings, but with time, her beautiful personality has blossomed! She’s now a playful, affectionate, and happy girl who greets her carers with a wagging bum and endless enthusiasm. If you’re lucky, she’ll even roll over for some of her beloved belly rubs!

Layla gets along well with the other dogs she has met, though she currently lives in her own kennel due to her size. Her gentle and friendly nature even earned her a spot at the Run for Animals 5K event in Romania, where she did amazingly well! She’s learning to walk nicely on a lead—although she gets excited for her walks, she patiently waits for her harness to be put on like the clever girl she is.

In the playground, she loves to run, explore, and take in her surroundings, always returning to her carers for attention (and maybe a few sloppy kisses along the way!).

The Home Layla Needs
Layla is a large breed, so she’ll need a home with plenty of space to move around comfortably. She would thrive as either an only dog or with a friendly resident dog. Given her past of being alone for so long, she would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day to shower her with love, attention, and companionship.

Her future family should have a good understanding of positive reward-based training and counter-conditioning, as she will need to learn everything from scratch—but with patience and kindness, Layla will be the most loyal and loving companion.
