Meet Poppy – A Sweet Soul Ready to Shine

Her Story
Poppy was rescued from the streets in April 2024, where she had been struggling to survive. Poppy was part of a group of dogs, but it was clear she had a special desire for love and companionship. When the rescue team began to walk away from her, Poppy barked desperately, as if begging them to stay. Her cries were too much to ignore, and the team couldn’t leave her behind. Now, at approximatley 4 years old, she’s getting a fresh start and is eager to find the loving home she deserves.

Her Personality
Poppy is a sweet-natured girl whose tail never stops wagging when she’s with people. She’s always happy to see her carers and eagerly welcomes any attention with joy. Poppy is still learning the ropes of life, but she’s making great progress! She’s mastering walking with a harness and loves to go on sniffy adventures during her walks. She’s even learned how to “sit” and is ready to show off her new skill for a treat! Poppy shares a kennel with two other dogs and gets along well with them, but she is just as happy in their company as she is on her own. Her enthusiasm and eagerness to please make her an absolute delight to be around.

The Home Poppy Needs
Poppy will need a patient family willing to teach her everything from scratch. She would thrive in a home that uses positive reinforcement and counter-conditioning to guide her through new experiences. A calm, understanding approach is key to helping Poppy adjust to her new life. While she could live with another gentle dog, we believe Poppy would be just as content being an only dog, soaking up all the attention and love her new family can offer.

If you have the patience and heart to help Poppy grow into her best self, she’ll reward you with endless tail wags, love, and the joy of watching her blossom. Could you be the one to offer Poppy the fresh start and forever home she has been waiting for?
