Meet Teddy – A Big-Hearted Boy Ready for a New Beginning
Background
Teddy’s journey began on the streets of Romania, where he was found alongside his 5 siblings in December 2022. Since then, he’s experienced both life in a home and time in a busy shelter. One by one, he watched each of his brothers and sisters leave for loving homes, while he remained behind—still waiting for someone to choose him. Although he once lived in the UK, Teddy has found himself back at the shelter, patiently hoping for a second chance. Shelter life hasn’t been easy—especially with all the noise and commotion—but through it all, his gentle, loving spirit has stayed. Volunteers at the shelter often wonder how such a sweet-natured dog could be overlooked for so long.
Personality
Teddy is a bright, affectionate boy who adores human connection. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, greeting visitors with a wagging tail. Once he’s had a moment to settle, he becomes a calm and cuddly companion—happily leaning in for strokes or flopping down beside you for a quiet moment of affection.
Teddy is playful and curious, and he really shines when he’s out on walks or exploring new spaces. He is comfortable with having a harness put on, and is regularly out walking with other shelter dogs. He already knows several cues like sit, paw, lay down, and how to take treats gently—proof of how eager he is to engage and learn. Though shelter life can be overstimulating at times, he responds beautifully to clear communication, calm guidance, and gentle reassurance.
With the right encouragement and consistent positive reinforcement, Teddy is continuing to grow into a confident and loving dog who’s ready for the next chapter of his life.
Home Required
Teddy is looking for a committed, experienced, patient adopter—someone who understands that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. Given his size a home with ample indoor and outdoor space would be best for Teddy. A home with a calm environment and access to regular enrichment would be ideal. We ask that Teddy is provided with structure, reassurance, and continued use of positive reinforcement to support his progress.
We believe that Teddy would suit a home with another balanced dog with proper introductions, but he’s also happy being the center of attention. Teddy would suit someone willing to invest in his ongoing emotional and mental development and who will celebrate his successes, big and small.
Teddy is a loving, intelligent, and playful companion who has so much to give—he just needs someone willing to offer him the time and compassion he deserves. Teddy may have been overlooked before, but his perfect match is still out there. Could it be you?
