Uno was rescued from a local pound in December 2022, frightened and unsure of people. He had already learned that the world could be confusing and overwhelming. With time, patience, and dedicated care from the shelter team and volunteers, Uno has made an incredible journey from a worried, uncertain dog into a confident, affectionate companion. He has now spent several years learning to trust, play, and enjoy human company – and he is more than ready to take the next step into a loving forever home.

Personality

Uno is a gentle, playful, and deeply loving boy with a wonderfully warm nature. He adores affection and happily gives kisses, enjoys cuddles, and often comes over to quietly ask for attention without ever being pushy. While he can look a little excited when people approach his kennel, he quickly settles once you are with him and relaxes into calm, happy companionship.

He enjoys walks, wears a harness very well, and explores the world with curiosity, sniffing every interesting scent along the way. Although he can pull a little with enthusiasm at first, he improves quickly and walks nicely with guidance. Uno is intelligent, food motivated, and eager to learn. He gets along well with other dogs, enjoys gentle play, and shows polite social skills, calmly setting boundaries when needed.

Home Required

Uno is looking for a patient and understanding home that knows he has never lived in a house before and will need time to learn everyday routines. A calm, rural or semi-rural environment would suit him especially well, where he can enjoy space, fresh air, and a peaceful lifestyle.

His new family should be committed to kind, positive reinforcement training, counter conditioning, and calm guidance to help him continue building confidence and settling comfortably into home life. He would be happy as an only dog or living with a friendly canine companion.
