Meet Bambi – A Gentle Girl in Need of a Loving Home
Her Story
Bambi’s life before rescue is unknown, but it’s clear she has been through a lot. At approximately 2.5 years old, she was saved from one of Romania’s public pounds in January 2023 – places where dogs like her stand little chance of survival. Now safe in the shelter, she’s been given a second chance, but what she truly needs is a patient and understanding home where she can finally learn what love feels like.
Her Personality
Bambi is a beautifully sweet but very timid girl. She finds comfort in the presence of other dogs, relying on them for the confidence to explore her surroundings. Right now, she isn’t ready for human touch, though she has made small but important steps—she will approach her carers for a little sniff before retreating back to the safety of her kennel mates.
It breaks our hearts to think about what she must have endured before coming to the rescue, but we know there is a bright future ahead for her in the right home. She hasn’t been taken out to the play area often, as the team don’t want to stress her by having to pick her up and carry her. However, on the occasions she has ventured out, she has shown how much she enjoys the space – sniffing, exploring, and having a gentle run around with her kennel mates. There’s a curious and playful side to Bambi just waiting to come out once she feels safe enough.
Bambi is a truly gorgeous girl who just needs time, patience, and a calm environment to help her come out of her shell. More than anything, we want her to experience the love of a real family.
The Home Bambi Needs
Bambi needs a quiet and understanding home with patient adopters who are willing to give her all the time she needs to build trust. She would benefit from a confident resident dog to help guide her and show her the ropes. Her family must be prepared for slow progress and should have a good understanding of positive reinforcement training to help her grow in confidence at her own pace.
With Bambi, the smallest milestones will feel like the biggest victories—whether it’s her first tail wag, her first time taking a treat from your hand, or the moment she chooses to sit beside you for comfort. Each little success will be a step towards the happy, trusting dog she has the potential to become.
Bambi has so much to give, and in the right home, she will flourish. If you have the love, patience, and kindness to help her on her journey, she will be forever grateful. Could you be the one to show her what a loving family truly is? 🧡
